Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Quran Visualized app for iPhone and Android, this website, and the Quran Visualized pages on Instagram, YouTube and other platforms (together, “Quran Visualized”). Quran Visualized is made by Voho LTD (“we”, “us”). By using it you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

1. What Quran Visualized is

Short, visual stories from the Quran and from authentic hadith, each ending on the verse or hadith it comes from, plus short facts with their references. It is free to use, needs no account, shows no ads and has no in-app purchases.

2. Religious content: please read

• Not a fatwa or religious ruling. Our stories and facts are for learning and reflection. They are not legal or religious rulings. For questions of practice, belief or law, please ask a qualified scholar.
• Meanings, not translations. The English lines are our own short paraphrase of the meaning, written so a story can be read in a minute. They are not a translation of the Quran. For the exact wording, read the verse in the Arabic and in a full, trusted translation.
• Sources. Each story lists its sources: surah and verse, or the hadith collection and number. We take hadith stories from Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. Please check the source yourself; it is always given.
• Mistakes. We work carefully, but we can make mistakes. If you find one, tell us through the support page and we will correct it.
• No depictions. We never draw prophets, companions or people. The artwork shows only sky, water, land, light, animals and objects from the story.

3. Using Quran Visualized

You may use the app and website for your own personal, non-commercial learning, and share our posts using the share features of the platforms they are on. Please don’t:

• copy, sell or republish our stories, artwork or videos as your own, or remove our name from them;
• change our content in a way that changes its meaning, or attribute words to the Quran or the Prophet ﷺ that are not there;
• use Quran Visualized to mock or insult any faith or people;
• try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the app or website, or use them against the law.

4. Who owns what

• Our content — the story text, the English meanings, the artwork, the videos, the app and the website — belongs to Voho LTD.
• The Quran text is the Tanzil Quran Text (Uthmani), used verbatim under its licence, with attribution and a link to tanzil.net. We never change it.
• Hadith are cited by collection and number; the retellings are our own words.
• Fonts: Amiri, Amiri Quran and Cormorant Garamond, under the SIL Open Font License.
• “Quran Visualized” and its logo are our marks. Apple, the App Store, Google Play, Instagram and YouTube are trademarks of their owners.

5. Links to other sites

The app and website link to other sites (for example tanzil.net, the app stores and our social pages). We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

6. Changes and availability

We may add, change or remove stories and features, and we may update the app at any time. We try to keep Quran Visualized available, but we don’t promise that it will always be available or free of errors.

7. No warranty

Quran Visualized is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Voho LTD is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Quran Visualized. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

9. Children

Quran Visualized is suitable for a general audience and collects no personal information from anyone. Parents may wish to read the stories with younger children, as some describe events such as punishment or killing, in words only.

10. Privacy

How we handle information is explained in our Privacy Policy. In short: we don’t collect anything about you.

11. App stores

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their own terms also apply. For the iPhone app, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies alongside these terms. These terms are between you and Voho LTD, not Apple or Google, and we, not they, are responsible for the app and its content.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use Quran Visualized after a change means you accept the new terms.
